2010...My New Year Resolution!!

My friends,
2009 has been a challenging year. My wife Windra and I received the diagnosis that both of our sons are Autistic. WOW! Our hearts broke and we felt helpless. Then we snapped back into it...we did not have the luxury to feel sorry for ourselves. We had two young boys who needed guidance, direction and most of all ...mommy & daddy!
Thanks to our physician Dr Chambers and Nicholas' teachers we are on the right track! Autism robbed Nicholas of his speech, however word by precious word he is working hard to regain that speech!
Additionally we made the decision t reach out to other parents like us...to raise Autism awareness...how? through Pro Wrestling! I have 18 years in this sport and I have made numerous friends and contacts...what better platform to raise awareness for Autism than the built-in platform that I have with Pro Wrestling.
In 2010 I am pleased to say that I will be working closely with Autism Speaks, The Matthews Center and UNO's Chicago Grill to continue my mission. My 2010 resolution is to help Nicholas double his vocabulary...My second 2010 resolution is to BODYSLAM AUTISM. What exactly do I mean when I say BODYSLAM AUTISM?? ...Raise awareness, let people know what autism is and urge everyone to get involved. Like I've said...my family will NOT be defeated by Autism and if I can help it...nobody's family will either. I want everyone to join my team and united we can fight & ultimately defeat Autism!!

Have a Safe & Happy New year my friends! God Bless! -Jimmy Cicero

NWA Continental heavyweight Champion...at 40

Hello friends...It's been quite a week. I'll start off with the wrestling news and then move over to an update on our mission...to BODYSLAM AUTISM!

* I finally received my long awaited title match with NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion "Big Time" Mike Booth. Now Booth is a machine...8 years younger than me and he can wrestle, fight and trash talk with the best of them...oh & he had not been pinned in 2 years! ....Notice I said "had"...With the total support of the NWA fans I had probably the best (& toughest) match in the last 15 years...& yes I pinned "Big Time" for the title! ...NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion WISEGUY JIMMY CICERO...has a nice ring to it!!

* How did I feel the next day? Great mentally ...and like I get run over by a truck physically! Like I said...Booth is very tough....and...I'm 40 (almost 41...birthday is in 2 weeks). I go to m gym 4-5 times a week just so I can keep up with today's young stars. Fast forward a couple of days later and I feel just fine...even at 40 I can still teach the young guys a lesson or two in the squared circle!

* Good News...Windra & I are planning on running a show in counjunction with The Matthews Ctr in our home town of Manassas VA. The Matthews Ctr works with autistic children and teens and is a terrific place! We are very proud to work hand-in-hand with such an awesome place! The show will be in April 2010 and proceeds will go to The Matthews Ctr. ....more details forthcoming!

* I just received word that I'll be following up my CBS interview with an interview on NBC slated to be televised on December 30th... Another opportunity to BODYSLAM AUTISM!!

Hope you all have a great week! God Bless...Your friend Jimmy!

I have a big match this weekend in Mattaponi VA against NWA Continental Champion "Big Time" Mike Booth! Booth is a fabulous wrestler albeit one who takes shortcuts at every given opportunity. Booth has also held the NWA Continental Title for 2 years...I'm going to need the support of all of the NWA fans to defeat Booth and win that belt!! Wish me luck!!

Finally & most importantly I want to give a big hug to my wife Windra and say THANK YOU!! Nothing would be possible withou the hard work, dedication and team mindset of my loving wife! She truly is the backbone of The Wiseguy!!

A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THE WISEGUY FAMILY (please click on title)

Welcome back my friends…

This has been a trying week for my family and I. Anthony (our youngest son) was diagnosed with Autism on Monday. We now have two young Autistic children (Nicholas almost 3 and Anthony 1)…talk about feeling like we got punched in the gut…this was and is tough to swallow! My wife & I however are fighters and we simply will not allow Autism to defeat our family! We will stay the course, give our children all of the love, understanding & patience necessary and we will NEVER STOP FIGHTING!!

I’m looking forward to wrestling this Saturday in Williamstown New Jersey for Tri-State Wrestling (TWA). The promoters for TWA are just awesome and the fans in New Jersey are phenomenal! Can’t wait to see good friends King Kahlua, Steve Corino, Rob Dimension and The Blue Meanie as well as The Hitmen & Glenn Osborne. A great group of guys! This show will also support TOY’S FOR TOTS, so if you’re planning on attending…please bring an unwrapped toy to help make a child’s Christmas special!

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the promoters, wrestlers & fans in Gloucester NJ from this past weekend. Over $400 was raised for Autism Awareness thanks to the big hearts and supportive spirit of the crowd in New Jersey. Special thanks to Big Slam, Tom Brandi, Gary B and the many fans who helped The WISEGUY BODYSLAM AUTISM!!

Have a great week / weekend and I’ll see you back here next Wednesday!! -The Wiseguy
